My name is Roeun Roeub. I graduated from South Seattle Community College with my Associate of Arts degree and Associate of Science Degree. I got into nursing because I wanted to help people. As a child I was always around my grandma and her friends. Slowly one by one they started disappearing. Without warning or any visual signs we were attending funerals one after another over the years. One comment that stuck to me was “she/he was fine I don’t know why she/he has left us”. What motivated me to become a nurse was when my own grandma was hospitalized. Long story short, ten years later my grandma is still with us despite her diagnosis. Patient and family teaching can make differences in our lives.
